Chambers of Change has been evolving over the years, driven not only by the lack of accessible and appropriate mental health support available for teenagers and/or parents, but also driven by the common divide in well-being practices that offer therapy solely for either the mind or the body.

We bridge this gap.

Rooted in the biopsychosocial model of wellness, we provide holistic support for both mind (psychology) and body (biology), empowering you with the time, energy, and desire to focus more on the social aspects of your life.

We understand that the effectiveness of various therapeutic modalities depends on individual needs rather than age or otherwise; Therefore, no matter what age, sexuality, ability, race, religion or other characteristics you have, we have worked hard to grow the movement of Chambers of Change, to avoid the repetition of negative experiences in which clients sit opposite professional adults who, often indirectly but nonetheless frequently, reduce such clients to feelings such as disconnection, judgement, misunderstanding, and burdened by the professional's unrealistic expectations.

Many people find seated talking therapy beneficial, and Chambers of Change certainly offers this option. However, for others, traditional therapy can be counterproductive, increasing anxiety, disengagement, and withdrawal. Therefore, our founder and Lead Therapist, Soph, has used her personal and professional experiences to inform a more personalised approach to therapy. This was and is the driving force behind the creation and growth of Chambers of Change: where we offer a variety of therapeutic modalities, but all under one organisation.

Therapeutic Modalities:

  • Individual Counselling - Seated / Activity-Based: We provide a non-judgmental space for clients to explore their thoughts and emotions, gaining clarity of mind through integrative person-centred therapy. Our counselling sessions are tailored to our clients specific needs: we offer seated counselling, walking and talking therapy, creative therapy, play therapy, and aside from traditional seated counselling, our most popular approach to date has been therapy which is carefully embedded into a physical or game-based activity. Offering a physical and/or game-based activity (football, dancing, gaming, table tennis & more), enables the working relationship between therapist and client to grow more robustly, encouraging a trust and nurturing an authentic connection - assisting the intertwine of therapeutic techniques within sessions.

  • Individual Massage: Our massage services offer a warm and relaxing environment to help release toxins, alleviate aches and pains, and potentially unlock emotions held within the body. Techniques include Swedish and Deep Tissue Massage; As well as the offering of an intertwined experience in which massage AND counselling are offered simultaneously.

  • Movement: Based on and utilising somatic therapy techniques, the aim of our movement therapy is to aid in the connection between body and mind. Our movement therapy can incorporate physical movement, such as stretching, tapping and dance; it can also include 'mental movement' via guided meditation and visualisation.  As we connect with our bodies, we can acknowledge that past trauma and emotion has been trapped within, these sessions help to release this stored tension and stress.

We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to connect, experience empathy and validation, and find a safe space where they can adapt and grow without being confined to traditional therapy formats. Our focus on individual counselling, massage, and movement therapy ensures that we can meet the diverse needs of our clients.
